Spatially Aware and Spatially Enabled

What is around...  What was around...  What will be around.

Being aware of your surroundings is to be spatially aware.  Choosing to incorporate business  mapping technologies and innovations for your business, your data and your applications, means to spatially enable them.

What does that mean?  All businesses work with rich and valuable databases of information.  It is known that over 85% of that data contains an address element that can be located on a map, displaying a variety of relationships that can tell you a compelling story.

I have always found that when people understand the principles of geocoding, proximity, near, along, within or touches, they start to understand the business benefits and opportunities for mapping”, Laurie Edwards, Managing Director.

MDS release application that improves planning and distribution performance

MDS clients are on a clear path to improving distribution performance through the combination of GIS, GPS and reporting services. Without doubt GIS-based route optimisation provides the most reliable means of developing new distribution models. Real-time feedback from vehicles automatically enables reports to be generated, giving your business hard statistics on fleet performance daily, weekly and monthly.

Contact Steve Cronan via email or +61 2 8436 2824 to discuss the ‘Four Pillars’ model that will enable your business to operate in the most efficient manner.

Webinar recording - President of Tactician Corporation

MapData Sciences recently hosted a webinar featuring Robert Reading, the President of Tactician Corporation.

Robert was able to enlighten the audience with real-world examples of how the Tactician Online service is being applied globally, and discussed recent and upcoming enhancements to Tactician Online.

Whilst reflecting on the ease-of-use and access, Robert also demonstrated the ability of Tactician Online to become a mission-critical element of a corporate decision-support solution through its capacity to be scaled and customised to meet specific client needs.  Robert encouraged existing users to submit suggested improvements for inclusion in a 2010 release.

Lessons from Europe drive industry

European standards have become the focus for improvements to road utilisation and freight efficiency.  At the recent Intelligent Transport Systems Summit speakers from a number of European countries emphasised the experienced they've gained from implementing improvements throughout the European Union and how they have led to significant efficiency gains.

MDS' route optimisation technology was developed in France and is used extensively across Europe by major organisations to improve fleet utilisation, reduce costs and improve service delivery to customers.
