MDS POI Dataset

The MDS POI Dataset is a digital representation of the physical location of various Points in Australia. This dataset aims to provide accurate location and contact information for MDS Places for GIS/Mapping applications. The datasets can be utilised by in-house GIS systems or within online applications accessed via MDS's Feature service. The dataset currently covers 29 different categories with over 60,000 locations.

The data includes address, contact information and has been ground truthed for accuracy. Additional attribute information has been added were available.

The MDS Places Dataset is stored as tables in a number of formats including:

MapInfo .TAB files
MapInfo MID/MIF files
XLS or CSV file
ESRI Shapefiles

The POI Dataset is continually being added to.
